Fostering as one

DBC Foster Care Ministry

“To come alongside foster and adoptive families through the encouragement and support of the Body of Christ.”

Fostering as One

Mission Georgia Prayer Guide:

Mark 10:16 NIV “And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.”

Pray for more families in Georgia to open their homes to kids in foster care, both for respite and long-term care. Pray for 400 children who are housed in hotels each night in Georgia. Pray that they will have supportive relationships until they can return to their family or be placed in a foster home. Ask the Lord to strengthen case workers who serve many children. Ask the Lord to send more people into this unique mission field of work.

Pajamas for foster kids.

BC and the Fostering as One committee are sponsoring a pajama donation for foster kids in September.

Adoption Party

DBC Fostering as One hosted an adoption celebration for a family who adopted their foster children.

DFACS playground and playroom

DBC Fostering as One is helping provide an attractive and appropriate environment for foster children to interact with their non-custodial parents. The DFACS playground and playroom needed updating and our funds are helping update the facilities.

Parents’ Night Out

DBC Fostering as One provides a parent night out. This ministry includes a place for the kids to play, eat, do crafts and have fun while the foster parents get a night out to go on a date, run errands, or just relax.

Meal Train

DBC Fostering as One sponsored a Meal Train to provide meals for foster families in our community for a month.

Backpacks

DBC Fostering as One sponsored a backpack drive for children entering foster care. The three- day bags included toiletries, pjs, a change of clothes, and comfort items. We provided 50 loaded backpacks for children entering foster care.

What Drives Us

Our Mission

Our foster care ministry’s first project is to put together three day bags for children entering foster care. These bags will include toiletries, PJ’s,  a change of clothes, and comfort items to make the first couple of nights in a new home a little easier, The bags can be picked up in front of the church sanctuary on October 24 and they need to be returned with the needed items on November 14. We appreciate our church family’s prayers for these children and all the people who work with them.
